he gospel comes in three parts. All Christians know the first part: “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). And we yearn for the third part, to be filled with all God’s fullness (Eph. 3:13-19), and swept away at Christ’s second coming.
This is Christianity for most people: a conviction by the Spirit; sorrow for sin; and repentance of our past lives. We go through a major struggle about choosing Jesus, and we make that choice. We know we want to be included when Jesus comes. But what happens until then?
One to Three
The thief on the cross didn’t have much time to wait. But for most of us the lapse between our choice to follow Jesus and our elation at His second coming involves years. We have to live in a real world that does not follow the Ten Commandments. We have to maintain our Christianity »
